Middle school (6-8th grade) can be one of the most exciting times in a kid’s life, but having a middle schooler can sometimes be a real trip. Your little guy or gal in many ways is moving into the big world. And that can be scary for parents and pre-teen alike. In middle school kids are introduced to all sorts of things that they just shouldn’t have to deal with. But real life is real life and as parents we need to help them learn how to make good and God-honoring choices.
This is where Generation City’s Fuel comes in. Fuel is Metro’s Middle School Division that partners with families with children who are in the 6th -8th grades. Fuel is fun, loud, safe and a great place for your kid to connect with God, good friends and with adult leaders who will love your teen.
Fuel is led by our Generation City Pastor, Chris Pasik – along with dozens of young adult and adult leaders. It is well organized and thoughtful in its approach to reaching Jr. High Students. It may look like organized chaos to some of us old people but it is targeted and relevant to their young worlds.
Every week your student will encounter creative and fun games and video. They have their own band that rocks their face off and points them to God. And they experience teaching from the Bible that is designed to help them move forward in loving and knowing God. We talk about real life issues like family life, friendships, having goals, dealing with peer pressure and negative influences like drugs and alcohol. And each week they are part of a City Group (small group) experience where they have an adult that cares about them and helps them to navigate some of the issues they face.
We’d love for your student to join hundreds of other Middle Schoolers from the Downriver for a night that will ROCK THEIR FACE OFF!
Fuel meets every Monday night from 7-8:30 p.m. But come early to hang out! Doors open at 6pm! Fuel currently meets at our Taylor Campus.(21080 Penn St. Taylor)
