Jeremy Schossau
Lead Pastor

Jeremy was born and raised in South East Michigan. At the age of 18 he married his high school sweetheart, Lynette. At 19, Jeremy went into business for himself as a General Building Contractor, while also attending college (he holds a B.A. in Ministry and a minor in Psychology) and beginning his life in ministry.

In his early 20's, Jeremy, along with his wife Lynette, started an independent Teen Ministry called REAL LIFE.  They both loved working with teens and spent more than ten years growing a student ministry.  In 2000 Real Life gave birth to what we now call Metro City Church.  Metro was launched with around 20 people (most of whom were less than 25 years old) and in the 10+ years since has, by God's grace,  become more than anyone could ever have hoped for. Jeremy, who is also the father of four, has spent the last 20 years in Bi-Vocational Ministry, working consistently in the marketplace as a General Building Contractor while also pursuing his greatest passion - building God's Kingdom and leading people to the feet of Jesus through the work at Metro City Church.

Did you know...

  • Jeremy once had hair well over TWO FEET long (due to his insatiable love for 80's rock)
  • While staying at the hospital after a car accident, he asked a family friend "how far along" she was.  To which she quietly replied "I'm not pregnant".
  • Pastor J is also among the world's finest tambouriners.

Greg Cahalan
Executive Pastor & Elder

Greg has lived in Michigan his entire life with the exception of six months in Charlotte, North Carolina.  He was born in Wyandotte and lived in Melvindale and Trenton during his school years, graduating from Trenton High School.  He has a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and a Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) degree from Michigan Theological Seminary.  He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and spent 20 years working for a large public accounting firm.

Greg is married to Tarah and has four beautiful children who were born in 1994 (Brooke), 2003 (Troy), and 2010 (the twins - Evan & Isabelle). Greg and Tarah had their first grandchild (Donovan) in 2016.

He spent time as a youth pastor, worship leader, and associate pastor at other churches before coming to Metro in 2008.  He was an elder at Metro for 4 years before becoming Executive Pastor in 2013.  He has a deep love for the Bible as the Word of God and is passionate about memorizing it, meditating on it, talking about it, and teaching it to others.  He believes that hearing the word of God with faith (Gal. 3:5) is the key to life and a vibrant relationship with God.

Did you know...

  • Greg played a year of college basketball (no kidding!)
  • He and his wife Tarah started dating after singing a love song duet at Tarah’s brother’s wedding
  • He once dreamed of being the drummer in the rock band KISS

Jack Napier
Community Life Pastor

Jack has lived on military bases all over the world, but he spent his teenage years in the Metro Detroit area.  At the age of 16, he gave his life over to God.  He realized that nothing could ever satisfy his soul, or forgive him of his wrongs...except Jesus.  Ever since then his life has never been the same.

Jack knew that God was calling him to teach the Bible, so after high school he moved to Mississippi to pursue a B.A. in Biblical Studies and B.S. in Business Administration.  While attending Blue Mountain College, he found and married the most wonderful and beautiful woman he has ever known, Courtney.

They lived in the Memphis, TN area for 6 years, where Jack served as an Associate Pastor and Youth Minister.  He also received a Master of Divinity degree from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.  Eventually God started moving his heart back toward "home."

Jack loves being a father to two rambunctious little boys and one precious little girl.  He has a heart for the people Downriver and wants to serve as a Pastor and Director of Life Groups.

Jack's favorite things:

  • Teaching the Bible
  • Playing games with his family
  • Trying new foods with his wife

Chris Pasik
Generation Pastor

Chris Pasik is our Generation Pastor of Metro City Church.  Chris was born and raised downriver.  After finally giving his heart to Christ at the age of 19, he has committed his life to creating a Jesus movement where people far from God find it irresistible.

Chris brings fire, passion, and comedic relief to the Gospel!  He speaks with tenacity, conviction, and force week in and week out to our community.  Chris' prayer is through Metro City Church Downriver would not just hear about Jesus, but they would be Jesus in their community.  So much so, that his life mission can be summed up by the words of C.H. Spurgeon.

"If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies.  And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay.  If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unprayed for." - C.H. Spurgeon

Chris holds a Bachlor's of Science in Secondary Education from Wayne State University, he is happily married to Tracie Pasik, who works for Woodhaven School Districts, and together they made two baby boys who wrestle, fight, cry, and tear the church apart.  Please pray for him!
